How to use this tool

- Choose the direction, colour, size and opacity. 20–30% opacity keeps the page readable.
- Select Add watermark and download the result.
How it works
The text is drawn in bold Helvetica in the centre of each page, rotated 45° when diagonal. If the text would not fit, it is shrunk so it spans at most 80% of the page diagonal.

Privacy and limitations
- Your PDF is processed on your device and is never uploaded.
- Latin characters only (standard PDF font).
- A watermark is a visible layer and can be removed with PDF editing software; it is not security.
- Password-protected (encrypted) PDFs cannot be opened. Remove the protection in the program that created the file first.
Frequently asked questions
Will the text under the watermark still be selectable?
Yes. The watermark is added as a separate layer and the original content is unchanged.
Can I watermark images instead?
