Random Name and Team Picker
Paste a list of names to draw one or more winners fairly, or shuffle everyone into evenly sized random teams.
Result
Add names, then pick winners or make teams.
How to use this tool
- Enter one name or item per line (or separate them with commas).
- Pick winners: choose how many to draw; nobody is picked twice.
- Make teams: choose the number of teams; team sizes differ by at most one.
- Select the button again for a new draw.
How it works
The list is shuffled with the Fisher–Yates algorithm using your browser’s cryptographically secure random generator, so every order is equally likely. Winners are taken from the start of the shuffled list; teams are filled in turn, one name at a time.
Example
Six names, two teams
Alex, Sam, Priya, Diego, Mei and Fatima are shuffled and dealt into two teams of three.
Privacy and limitations
- Names stay in your browser and are not stored.
- Duplicate lines count as separate entries, giving that name more chances — remove duplicates first if that is not intended.
- For official prize draws, follow the rules that apply in your country.
Frequently asked questions
Is the draw fair?
Yes. Every entry has an equal chance, using a secure random source and an unbiased shuffle.
Can I give someone more chances?
Add their name more than once — each line is one entry.
