Bulk Metadata Remover
Strip hidden location, camera and date information from a whole batch of photos before sharing them, and download the clean copies as a ZIP.
Result
Add photos and select Remove metadata.
How to use this tool
- Add up to 100 photos.
- Select Remove metadata. The results table shows what was removed from each file, such as GPS location, camera and date.
- Download the clean files individually or as a ZIP and share those instead of the originals.
How it works
For JPEG files, EXIF/XMP, IPTC, comment and other application blocks are removed while the image data and colour profiles are copied byte for byte. For PNG files, text, EXIF and timestamp chunks are removed. Photos that relied on an EXIF rotation flag, and other formats, are re-saved so they display the right way up.
Example
Holiday photos
A batch of phone photos that each contain GPS coordinates comes back with “removed GPS location, camera, date” for each file, ready to share.
Privacy and limitations
- Photos are processed on your device and never uploaded.
- Removing metadata does not hide what is visible in the photos themselves.
- For one photo with a detailed view of what it contains, use the single EXIF and Metadata Remover.
Frequently asked questions
Is the image quality affected?
Not for JPEG and PNG files without a rotation flag — only metadata is removed. Re-saved files use 95% quality.
Do social networks remove metadata anyway?
Many do, but email, messaging apps, cloud links and file transfers usually keep it.
