Favicon Generator
Turn a logo into a complete favicon set — a multi-size favicon.ico, PNG icons for browsers, iPhone and Android, the web manifest and the HTML to add to your site.
Result
Choose a square logo or icon (512 × 512 px or larger works best).
How to use this tool
- Add a square logo or icon, ideally 512 × 512 px or larger.
- If it isn’t square, crop it to the centre or fit it with padding. Add padding so it isn’t cramped at small sizes.
- Download favicon.ico, each PNG and site.webmanifest, upload them to your website’s root folder, and paste the HTML into the <head> of your pages.
How it works
A 512 × 512 master image is made first, then scaled down in steps to each size. favicon.ico packs 16, 32 and 48 px PNG images into one icon file (supported by every current browser and by Windows). The Apple touch icon is 180 × 180 with a solid background, and the Android/PWA icons are 192 and 512 px.
Example
What you get
favicon.ico, favicon-16x16.png, favicon-32x32.png, apple-touch-icon.png (180 px), android-chrome-192x192.png, android-chrome-512x512.png and site.webmanifest.
Privacy and limitations
- Icons are generated on your device; your logo is never uploaded.
- Detailed logos become unreadable at 16 px — a simplified mark or initial often works better.
- Browsers cache favicons aggressively; after replacing one, you may need to clear the cache to see the change.
Frequently asked questions
Do I still need favicon.ico?
It is still the most widely supported option, and some tools request /favicon.ico directly. The PNG icons and manifest add high-resolution versions for modern devices.
Can I use an SVG favicon?
Modern browsers support SVG favicons, which you can add with <link rel="icon" type="image/svg+xml" href="/icon.svg"> alongside this set.
