Products to compare

Add products to find the best value.

How to use this calculator

  • Add each product with its price, size and unit.
  • Mix units of the same kind freely, such as 500 g and 1 kg.
  • The cheapest per unit is shown first.

Formula

Each size is converted to a base unit (grams, millilitres or items), and the price is divided by it. Results are shown per kilogram, litre or item.

Worked example

Two pack sizes

500 g for 3.00 is 6.00 per kg; 1 kg for 5.00 is 5.00 per kg — the small pack is 20% more expensive.

Assumptions and limitations

  • Everything runs in your browser; nothing you enter is uploaded or stored.
  • Weight and volume cannot be compared with each other.

Frequently asked questions

Is the biggest pack always cheapest?

Often, but not always — supermarket offers can make smaller packs cheaper per unit. Waste also matters if you cannot use it all.

Can I compare US and metric sizes?

Yes. Ounces, pounds, fluid ounces and gallons are converted automatically.
